Counselling
Compassionate, client-led counselling tailored to your individual needs.
Providing pluralistic therapy in Stroud, Gloucestershire, with online counselling available across the UK.
Beginning Counselling
Choosing to begin counselling can feel like a significant step and finding a therapist who feels right for you is an important part of that process.
How we work together
I am a qualified counsellor trained in a pluralistic approach. This means that I recognise that every client is unique and that there is no single way of working that suits everyone and so different approaches are useful at different times. Pluralistic therapy is grounded in a person centred approach but also tailors therapy to meet each clients individual needs, goals and circumstances.
Together we can explore what you would like from therapy and adapt our work in a way that feels most supportive, working at a pace that feels comfortable for you. At the heart of my practice is the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role is to offer empathy, understanding and a non judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
I work collaboratively and throughout our work together we can regularly review how therapy is feeling for you, what is helping and whether we can work differently in a way that may better support your needs.
I support clients who are experiencing:
✓ Grief and loss
✓ Persistent symptoms such as chronic pain, fibromyalgia, CFS/M.E, fatigue or IBS
✓ Stress and anxiety
✓ Depression or low mood
✓ Family issues
✓ Relationship difficulties
✓ Work related issues
✓ Significant life changes

Specialist Areas of Support
I have a particular interest in supporting clients who are experiencing grief and loss or living with chronic pain and other persistent health issues. I have undertaken specialist bereavement training and volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support. I recognise that grief is a deeply personal experience and whether your loss is recent or from many years ago I can provide a space to explore your feelings and find support at your own pace. I am also a stress illness recovery practitioner (SIRPA) and use a mind-body approach to support recovery from symptoms such as chronic pain.
