Grief & Loss Support

Compassionate grief and bereavement support in Stroud, Gloucestershire, with online sessions across the UK.

Whether your loss is recent or from many years ago, I offer a compassionate, non judgemental and supportive space where you can be listened to and explore your feelings at your own pace.

Understanding Grief

I have a particular specialism in working with grief and loss and I understand that everyone's experience of grief is unique.

Grief can affect us in many ways - emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritually - and there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

Everyone grieves differently

Loss may relate to the death of a loved one but can also involve the end of a relationship, changes in health, fertility challenges, miscarriage, the loss of identity during menopause or retirement, work or financial changes, family estrangement, moving home and other significant transitions. Sometimes grief can arise from experiences that are less visible to others, making it difficult to feel understood or supported.

You may also be coping with secondary losses that have caused changes in routine, relationships, financial security, identity, confidence or future hopes and expectations. This can deepen and complicate the grieving process.

Grief does not look the same for everyone. There are many different ways that grief may be experienced and you may be living with grief that is anticipatory, ambiguous, disenfranchised, delayed, prolonged, traumatic, cumulative or absent.

Your experience is personal and shaped by many factors. Grieving is not a linear process, it does not follow a set pattern, fixed stages or a clear timeline. We all grieve differently and there is no expectation that you should process loss in a particular way.

What your support may look like:

Because everyone's experience of grief is different, I don't believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach to support.

Instead, I offer a unique blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to your individual needs and your personal experience of grief. This may include bereavement counselling, drawing on coaching approaches where appropriate or incorporating Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) if this feels supportive. Together, we will work in a way that feels right for you, whether you would benefit from short-term support or longer-term work.

We'll explore your grief at a pace that feels right for you, taking time to understand your experience of loss and how it is affecting you.
